Greetings,Earthlings, presently subjegated on this planet, with fatal
flaw...obscure desire to purchase, posess, procure, and panhandle for tools....
It all started when I was a lad ,yes that long ago, and wound up on a wood
boat, older , of course , than I was . It needed some work, and so I needed
some tools....I've been living on and building boats for about 30 years
now....And then one day I found myself on the land , and now the tools
didnt seem to rust as quickly, so I started buying better ones
and then updating the "collection "...Then like a flock of birds, more
and more similar species started lining the shelves and then it has finally
got to the point I'll never actually get any work done because i
can't walk through the shop in a straight line because there are, um,
tools, in the way....Well Any way while out looking for parts for my tools,
or maybe somthing I NEEDED to own, that I didn"t know I didn"t have I
stumbled onto this crowd of other people similarly aflicted.-And Ya know ,
It's sort of a relief, although You have my sympathy...I'm still in the
trades, construction, boat building and repair,or whatever is required to
keep the mortgage paid and occasionally go looking for yet more "junk" to
clutter up my time with...I'm into user type tools, dont want to ruin a
cool old tool for tearout, so I gotta have at least two of almost every
thing thats handy ..and three or four of anything usefull, and who can
pass up a good deal on the one thing ya really don't need but can't
leave it there. I mean it IS a good tool, and, well, You know..A bio? oh.
Well I'm 48, probably dealing with mid life crises but too
depressed about it to really enjoy it. Currently I have a house up in
the sierra foothills with a 14' whitehall lofted on the garage floor and am
mostly commuting to the bay area for work. Not liking that,
the commute part anyway . I love working on wood boats....So , I really
need those tools.see? really... And that one ,too. Oh. bio.. Well I'm no
social butterfly, don't have a lot of patience any more,.. the
folks I work for regard my methods as arcaic, and because time is money
want me to hurry it up but wouldn't know how to go about doing it for
themselves.(besides, they don't have the tools)Basicly, My
bio could be summed up as a grumpy old guy who really likes what He's
doing but resents the h--- out of HAVING to do it.Yeah, a real charmer. No
wonder it's so easy to find me.....If I'm home You'll be
able to locate me in the garage sharpening yet another piece of salvage
to cart off to work.So drop by anytime, there's always somthing needs doing,
but don't expect a lot of conversation, it's pretty much
a hands on deal ....O.K., then ...Thats about as close to a bio as We're
gonna get here..Not very nice about loaning out tools, either..Anyway, this
is who I am. See ya around on the porch, and ,um ,dont
say I said so, but nice knowing You're there...Mike
