276149 Tony Seo 2022‑08‑15 Madison Bouckville NY Antique Week Aug 2022 Day 1
Today sort of kicked off Madison Bouckville Antique Week, although technically
it starts tomorrow and people have been there set up and selling for a few days
all ready.

The view from the road on the way into town.

Rows and rows of tents, some filled, some waiting.

There were some great old tools, but at prices too steep for this old boy.

Dealer from PA and a buddy of mine chilling in the shade.

I was as tired as I looked. The step counter on my phone said 2.9 miles, but
that thing only records 75 to 80% of the total walking.

Pickings were slow and well not great in volume. (Sorry about the bad pics,
fighting with the sun and shadows.) There is a funky big t-handle tapered
reamer, a pair of flat jaw blacksmith tongs (I did see lots of tongs, but they
must have been made from solid gold based on the asking prices!), a fairly good
jointer's mallet, a fairly clean Greenlee drawknife, a Karpenter folding handle
drawknife that needs some work, (and I left easily another 20 drawknives out on
the fields of battle because of over pricing and very poor conditions,) and a
Stanley SW No. 81 scraper plane.

This batch includes a big hand forged sciliop or tapered reamer, a Star patent
marking gage, a couple of hardwood (the one is rosewood, the other might be
ebony) leather burnishers, a pair of bevel side chisels, a blacksmith 2 3/4"
flatter head, an early iron bitstock with a wooden pad, a layout knife from
Pakistan, an E C Stearns adjustable mouth spokeshave, and another mallet with
what feels like a Lignum Vitae head.

Tomorrow the fun starts early (well not too early, up at 7:00 AM and back there
before 9:00 AM)

Tony (fun fun fun...on the run run run)
