32040 Steven McKay <mckay@c...> 1997‑12‑09 I'm not a Galoot! I'm not! I'm not! I'm not! (Bio)
Ok, I've recently cut dovetails by hand. I've just aquired two jack planes
and have spent an inordinate amount of time wondering about them. I've also
spent some time wondering where I can get my hands on a #7 or #8. After that,
I'd like to pick up a #4, a chisel plane, a dado plane, and I'm sure there
will be others if I'm given enough time. (I'm being very quiet about this
around SWMBO).

On the other hand, (mumbled in low subdued tones, lest I get thrown off the
porch) I have a router which I use a lot, along with a drill and circular saw.
I watch *both* the Woodwrights shop and NYW, and learn from both.

I've been lurking on the mail list archive for a while, but now I have a
question, so I'm posting this drivel in the hopes that O'deen will mistake
it for a bio. I'm a rank amateur at woodworking, but have a couple of
projects I'm trying to complete before christmas.

In real life, I teach mathematics at a local university. My family
consists of
my wife and I, a son (13) and two daughters (11 and 8). None of my children
so far have shown any interest in woodworking. My wife has plenty of items
she wants me to build, but doesn't like the mess in the process :-)

I'll email my question in a different thread.
