Hi all,
        I am Jerome I guess that it is time that I come out from lurking
behind
the scenes.  I am 32 years old an I am in school for interior design in
Chapel
Hill, NC. I am fairly new to the world of wood working and the
collecting of
tools.  all of my tools are user tools and are used once I
figure out how to use the darned things.  Yesterday I finally figured
out that my
fillister plane works really well if I turn the blade over onto its
correct side.

        Currently I have a small collection of hand planes and some nice
chisels
that I bought at work. I work part time at a wood worker's supply a
couple of towns over.  I like working there, but I am surrounded by way
too many Normites.
        The last project that I finished wa san American Empire four
poster bed.
It came out nice, for my first attempt at a woodworking project.  My
wife wants a
dresser now.   In Bob's Bio he posed the question of where is the next
generation
of Woodworkers going to come from.  I want to be
part of the generation, however, where do people gain their skills at
this
endeavor.  I have asked for work at a couple of shops, but they told me
that they
do primarily production work and that tI would not enjoy it very much or
learn
what I am looking for.  I think that they were right.  All
of them seemed to be making kitchen cabinets.  Boring.  Do any of you
guys have
suggestions for where I would look for employment.  I want to do this,
but I also
need a paycheck to fuel my collecting habit.  I want to buy a hide glue
set up.
