Greetings from Nebraska, Been enjoying the discussions for some time now so I figured it was time to come out of the shadows. I've gleaned a lot of information over time (most good..ha) so the first thing I'd like to say is thanks. I'm just a country boy who enjoys working with tools. Kind of hard to have my last name and not have an interest in tools. It's genetic; and chronic I'm afraid. Was born and raised on a farm/ranch in Colorado. My interest probably started when I got the "Old Timer" pocket knife as a Christmas gift when I was a kid. Used to spend hours whittling on twigs and branches from old cottonwood and elm trees. Thought it was the greatest gift in the world and thus my woodworking interest was kindled. Little did I know at the time but Dad's main goal was to have something for me to cut the the sisal twine on all the hay bales we used to feed to livestock. Indeed, it was a lot easier to slice through them as opposed to turning the bales on their sides and jerking one side, then the other off. Plus, it gave me a head start from voracious bovines. Fast forward, Dad retires, Dad sells farm since boy isn't ready to take it over, boy meets girl, boy and girl follow careers all over the country and have just moved to Nebraska from St Louis. Lots of changes in life but never lost that interest of working with wood.....and tools. Take care out there, Lyle DeWalt ------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

well, lyle, i am sure someone has some sort of oilcan with an appropriate nut, animal, vegetable, or mineral oil to take care of those squeaking rockers. in fact, i would bet if you posted a question about sharpening lubricants you'd have more suggestions than you can shake a squeak at :) welcome to the porch. bourbon on the high shelf, lemonade on the side tables... bill kasper felton, ca On Jan 7, 2008, at 7:55 PM, DeWalt wrote: >> >> Welcome Lyle... >> Draw up a rocker and sit a spell... >> roy >> >> Roy Griggs > > > Thanks.
