My inclination would be to call that a roofer's or carpenter's hatchet (~22
oz head w/12" handle).  Rigger's hatchet/ax (~28 oz head w/18" handle) is
bigger than that one appears to be, although my eyes may be deceiving me.
I wonder if the handle on your hatchet is a replacement.  Seems like most
hatchets of that style have straight handles.
