I am very late but here is my bio
I was born and brought up in Edmonton, Alberta. We had a well equipped
shop but most of my time there was taken up with the lathe and jig saw.
Dad still says that I wouldn’t do anything unless it could be done on a
power tool but he was not that much different. After graduation from
the university of Alberta I moved to Windsor, Ontario where I obtained a
Masters. After spending a year in New Zealand and getting married
(Pam) we moved to Alberta for good. I could again have a shop and
accumulate tools. but now used a mix with the emphases on hand tools.
Two primary interests furniture (primarily Queen Anne and Early
Georgian) and tool making, when I could get time away from northern
projects (Pipelines and Tar Sands Plants. Similar split to that of James
Krenov although I will never reach his skill level In 1980 I set up my
own Consulting Company (metallurgical engineering), the next year we had
a daughter (Susan) and two years later Pam left although we remain best
friends. My health took a major turn for the worth at this time
eventually resulting in my going onto a disability pension. As a
result I have not done much woodworking in the last few years although
keeping my interest up with reading and minor projects. Other interests
include camping and fly fishing.
